The best thing about having three cultures in our home (Persian, French, and American) is that there always seems to be a holiday around the corner. Tuesday we missed mardi gras so tonight I made crepes and we had French cider for a belated celebration. And before that we started the preparations for our Sofreh Haft Seen (a table with seven items that start with S in Farsi which brings luck in the new year).
This is the fish we got for our Haft Seen table.
His name is Norouz but we call him Nor for short.
Dying eggs.
Sohail dying eggs for the first time ever!!
This is the first Haft Seen we've ever made.

I love that you guys have a Haft Seen table. Your kids are going to grow up with it, just like I did. How wonderful! (I like the French and American twists in there too). :)

I like the fish!!! You guys need to start telling me these hollidays so I can come up and have a drink with you two :)
Mardi Gras drinks almost made "Nor" fresh sushi!
Kidding "Nor" - maybe.
Welcome to the fam!
Derek - There's a holiday every month in our house some come here anytime. The next one is March 21 (Persian New Year) and then end of April (Easter) and then end of May (Memorial Day). xo Saskia
Pauvre "Nor"... J'espere qu'il a un bon sens de l'humour!
En tout cas la table est tres jolie et tres interessante. J'aime bien tous ces symboles dans la culture iranienne. Tes crepes avaient l'air tres reussies malgre un debut difficile, c'est normal.
Bisous..
WTF , sushi?
Not cool.
