Neither of us has ever had a tree at own home (not counting our parents' homes) so we picked this one out yesterday at the elementary school down the street.
Looks like we didn't get quite enough lights...
But we do have the beautiful porcelain origami ornament my Mom got us.
And a bunch of others normal ornaments from Ikea
After decorating the tree, I got killed in Backgammon... twice!
Next time we're together, I'll give you some backgammon lessons. I know you can beat him! Beautiful tree. How wonderful you guys are starting your own Christmas traditions together. :) -Shirin
Oh, I see. I did seem to think you'd never had a tree before, based on your wording. I thought that seemed strange from your background, but who knows? -Shirin
Staring across a backgammon board at a Persian is an intimidating thing. But I'm living proof that with hard work and a couple of good rolls, the Persians can be beat.

Thanks Shirin! I need them lest he keep calling me "blondie" every time I make a stupid move - which is always.
Oh and correction - this is the first time we've ever had a tree in our own home. Our parents always had trees of course. Sorry Maman!
