friends & family... my favorite!

Sohail and I just got back from spending the weekend in New York. We went to see Shirin who was there to help her childhood friend Lisa move but we also managed to make a pitstop in Princeton to see a good friend of mine from law school and some of Sohail's family.

update

Wow, so much has happened since the last post... I guess it's a good sign that I'm too busy having fun outside of work to get on the computer. So here's an update in photos:

We celebrated with tequila - the same way we celebrated everything else in Mexico...

While I cannot show in a photo how much better it's been with Obama, I can say that I feel like I live in a brand new city. I'm now proud rather than fuming when a motorcade drives by, I'm happy almost all the articles in the NY Times are on issues about which I care deeply, and I even caught a glimpse of Michelle Obama as she was driven into the White House one day.

I finally made it to the Chinese New Year parade this year! Post-law school life is wonderful.

Reza in Washington

Sohail's cousin Reza was in town this weekend for residency interviews. Because Sohail was busy with his own studying and because the weather was beautiful (if a little cold) I played tour guide.

Thanksgiving!

I love Thanksgiving! Sohail and I went to Charleston for the long weekend and spent some great family time. It was great to see Derek again and meet my niece Addy. Plus it was really fun seeing Charleston from a tourist's perspective. It was Sohail's first visit.

One of the most relaxing of places in my life - in front of the fireplace having aperitif with family and puppies.
